More of Christy's Shirtings from Kat & Cat Quilts

Happy Friday, Quilters! Sorry I skipped last Friday's post, I was sick with a cold for a while. I'm still hacking up a lung, but otherwise doing better.

I've got some more of Christy's shirtings quilts to show this week. We'll have to be careful who this one gets given to. Texas Tech is heresy in some families!

All of these were quilted by me with a stipple. I like the brighter colors and the patterns in these first two.

This is a really simple and effective pattern, reminds me of a good block drive ...

Christy's Shirtings from Kat & Cat Quilts

Happy Friday, Quilters! Sorry I missed posting last week. I did deliver 30 more quilts to the hospital. We've surpassed 1600 total!

Christy has sent in several batches of shirtings tops over the years and they are still some of my favorites. I have been quilting these bit by bit and still have some to go.

They all just quilted with a simple stipple. I had fun choosing very cozy and homey fabrics for the backing and binding to compliment the shirts.

I hope you all had a good Halloween and ate way too much candy. I definitely did ...

Last of the 2021 Strings (and Friends) from Kat & Cat Quilts

Happy Friday once again, quilt-y friends! At long last I have photos of that last quilts from the 2021 block drive.

If you remember, the 2021 drive was the one where you all made string blocks that were foundation pieced directly onto the batting.

With another block drive wrap up comes another map:

At the same time, I wanted to do a round-up of some more string quilts that have been completed.

Top by Pam C, quilted by Linda

These two tops were sent in by Pam C. some time ago and finally finished by Linda on her longarm.

Top ...

Bright Happy Quilts from Louise from Kat & Cat Quilts

Tammy is still hard at work on the May/June block drive quilts! Visit her blog to see the latest!

Louise sent me this batch of orphan block quilts a while back and they've been waiting their turn for a photo shoot.  The blocks that started this quilt came from Cathy and Louise added some.

Some of the blocks appear to be from the book Farmhouse Vintage. I love the embroidered details on the mixer and the bee.

Louise blogged about these quilts on her site here.  So you can read more details there.

These wonky stars and the ...

Christy's Cozy Shirtings Quilts from Kat & Cat Quilts

I've been needing to, and wanting to, get these tops that Christy sent in  to CiL quilted for a while.  Christy makes a lot of quilts with shirtings, which are fabrics recycled from men's shirts.   You can see some of her previous quilts here.

I love the color palettes this creates, and I think the shirts must be a nice reminder for families.

I think this large quilt with the vertical strips is especially cool.

It got a great backing, too, made from leftover bits of backing from all the red, white, and blue star quilts from last ...

A Homemade Quilt from Kat & Cat Quilts

Welcome to the weekend, quilters, and happy holiday season! Just one quilt to show today. Officially, this is the first finish from this summer's red, white and blue block drive.  It's a "bonus quilt" I decided to finish with the patriotic batch since it matched so well. (Thank you to Alycia who commented to let me know this pattern came from a mystery quilt "A8" she ran in 2018!)

Christy sent in the top a while back. There are a mix of shirtings and quilting fabrics in it and it measures a generous 66"x78" or there abouts ...
